CME Celebrates Opening of New Gold Coast HQ

Crushing & Mining Equipment (CME), a subsidiary of the H-E Parts International group of companies, celebrated the official opening of its new 6000m2 Yatala facility on 19 May.
After six years at CME’s previous address, regional general manager Gordon Fogwill and his staff relocated in mid-February to the new site, allowing the company to provide an even higher level of service and support to its customers.
The purpose-built workshop is equipped with a 32 tonne gantry crane with 10 metre high clearance, an assembly pit for repairs on tall items, a crusher test bed, a wash-down facility with an environmentally friendly grease separator, and a painting facility. The workshop allows CME to provide a wider range of services, including complete crusher rebuilds, major crusher repairs like heads and bowls, site service and vertical shaft impactor (VSI) rotors.
The new, larger warehouse will allow the company to increase its already substantial spare parts inventory, with parts to suit all major brands of crushing equipment in Australia.
David Cilento, the President of the Institute of Quarrying Australia and the general manager of Metromix, officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony and said in his speech, “It is good to see companies like CME investing in facilities and services to support the quarrying and mining industries.”
Ian Olivieri, the managing director of H-E Parts Australia Holdings, was in attendance, as well as numerous customers. Everyone was given a tour of the facility, which included various demonstrations highlighting CME capabilities such as the full range of jaw and mantle lifting devices. Among other things, customers were impressed with the versatility of manganese liners.
CME was first established in Perth in 1988. The company has since grown to become a market leader in the supply of crushing equipment and consumables to the mining and quarrying industries in Australia, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
